The past couple of months have been filled with changes in my life. I got a new job, a roommate, a new piercing and a dog. Through all of these things, I have realized just how thankful I am that I have such great people in my life and so many awesome opportunities to experience life.
My new job is at the YWCA-Minneapolis. It is exactly what I was looking for! It’s a non-profit, I make good money, I have great co-workers and the environment is so welcoming, easy-going and has a real second family community feel to it. I am excited to see what this job has in store for me and where it will lead me to in life.
My roommate is my best friend. She is awesome and we live well together. It’s so nice to have someone around, especially on those nights when I want to go out or have a drink. But really, I am exponentially happier now that I have a roommate.
New piercing. Well, yep. I got an ear piercing it’s cool and should hold me off until my next tattoo.
And then there is the dog, Oliver. He’s not really mine. My roommate is fostering him for now. Him and Basil get along great, which makes me so happy and has increased the cuteness factor in our apartment. He is such a great dog, I don’t understand how no one has shown interest in him. It breaks my heart to know that there are so many animals out there who don’t have homes simply because no one wants them. Basil was the same way: no one had an interest in her. Hands down the prettiest cat and the cutest dog, and now they both live with us! I’m glad L was willing to foster a dog, that alone shows how caring of a person she is.
Everyday I learn something new or am exposed to a new lifestyle. I work with a variety of people from different backgrounds, socio-economic backgrounds, races, etc. That is one of the best things about my life right now. Being reminded that there are so many different types of people in the world is exciting to me. I can’t wait to travel more to meet even more people!!
I’d say it’s safe to say, I’m loving my life right now.
